Another piece of reality I hate to see. To make way for one big word called urbansiation.
I couldnt help from not wondering if our government or respective authority clearly know what they are doing; are they very sure they are making the “right” decision?
7th storey will step into history comes Decemeber where the building will be demolished, to make way for Downtown Line.
It’s a like another tourist landmark of our little island. There is even a coverage in Wikipedia. It is even older than our country’s indpendence.
I wouldnt say they serve the best steamboat. But the whole setting and charcoal-pot make it an unique dining experience.
The building has been standing since 1955, way before our Independence. She has witnessed vast developments and changes around her. Surrounded by buildings from the Old and Now , sitting in one of the tables in alfesco, enjoying a simple steamboat dinner – just another unique way way to experience Singapore. Not much of time left for this type of experience.
I will surely miss the charcoal burning smell in the air.
I will surely miss their infamous Hainanese Chicken Rice and Pork Chop.
