“Upgrading at the 25 year-old East Coast Lagoon Food Centre was completed in December and the centre – now a ‘food village’ – boasts a tropical setting complete with outdoor umbrella seating, timber trellises and lush landscaping. The new design allows the centre to blend with the unique location in a park by the sea and its beachfront facilities.” Source
Hawker centre is definitely a one-stop for a good sampling session of our local favorites: oyster omelette, chicken wings, satays, po piah, rojak. Yummy!
The upgraded East Coast Lagoon Hawker Centre is definitely top in my faves. The beach is just next to it! You could have a stroll after a good meal. Bedok Jetty is just around the corner where you could check out the “catch of the day” where people leisurely fish there.
Comparatively speaking, Newton Circus is simply too expensive. The severe touting problem simply cheeses me off! La Pau Sat, a little too touristy.
Haron 30 Satay
Stall No 55
Among so many stalls to pick from, I must say this is the best I have had so far!
When comes to satay, I definitely prefer the beef version more than chicken. And I MUST have ketupat!!!
Those sticks of beef satays from this stall, OMG, so tender! I like how the taste of spices unwarps as you chew the meat.
Grilled Cuttlefish with You Tiao Rojak
When you have all the above, you have to close the loop with a fresh and refreshing coconut drink!
