COVA Pasticceria – Confetteria, opens on 9 June 2008 on our island. COVA’s first franchise café in Southeast Asia.
I do not doubt the quality of pastry and beverage coming from this premium brand.
The reason why I looked so farward to have a good afternoon tea with friend in this epicurean setting.
Unfortunately, the service of the waiter horribly disappointed me on my very first step to the cafe.
Instead of greeting us with a smile, “Good afternoon”; he gestured us in, expressionless.
I do not expect this level of customer service from a cafe which maintains her reputation in the mainstay of high-society life.
This is absolutely not acceptable! Completely dampen my mood; the usual shutter-bug, disappeared.
Every now and then, we complain how bad the local customer service could get.
The reality, if you pay peanuts, you will get monkey.
Do you expect a good service from the heart? Rare. So, it is understandable.
On the contrary, you would think you will receive a quality service when you patronise a cafe of such elite and enjoy your sip, cos you pay a premium to it.
So utterly wrong! 😦
Am I going to be one of the return customers? No.
Will I recommend my friends to go? No.
Will I recommed YOU to go? No. Save your money and visit the authentic cafe in Milan or the franchise in Hong Kong.
After a long hours of walking around in town, we landed up at our fave Olio Dome in Shaw House.
The whole service staff and restaurant manager recovered us from the disappointment in Cova.
Everyone was paying attention in your needs – taking initiative to refill your water, to bring you an addition set of plates and cutlery.
Most importantly, a smile on their faces at every point of contact with the customers even though it was dinner time.
Unlike Cova, rubbish.
