C has been harping on the word, “Tampopo”, once we mentioned we were going to Liang Court for lunch.
It’s a ramen shop tucked away on the first floor in the refurbished Liang Court.
Their specialty? Black Pig’ ramen. Black pig aka Berkshire pork for the West, or Kurobuta pork in Japan.
Their iconic dish is ramen; but the tonkatsu just lured me away!
One bite, you could tell the difference. No exaggeration. It doesnt taste like the regular piece of pork. Not a bit of dryness. Not a bit of toughness. Wow.
Ramen wise, perhaps Im still more a soba noodles person. I just dont know how to appreciate it. And I always find miso stock too overly salty.
