This movie has gained a sudden and unexpected widespread popularity in Taiwan.
Such popularity got me curious too.
And I have been trying to find time to watch it.
I just have to catch it before I leave for my holidays!
Story line, nothing too complicating. 90% of the dialogue are in Hokkien. The humour and romance elements are in.
However, what captivates me the most? The beautiful sceneries of Taiwan.
I have yet to visit the southern part. After watching this movie, I definitely have to make some future plans soon. ^^
Imagine, at the traffic junction, while waiting for the traffic light to change from amber to red, waiting for the traffic man to change to green, a Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 stalls in front of you. Very naturally you will check out who the driver is. Continue to imagine, the driver is Christian Bale, has all his hair gelled back, looking incredibly suave in his suit. OMG I bet bags of groceries will fall out from my hands.
Yes, I know this sounds awfully far-fetch. Trust me, those scenes of him in Dark Knight where he drives the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 in suit. OMG. I dont think any woman can resist that kind of look, let alone in the combination with such a sports car. Perfect combo!!
Unlike those who zoom down Orchard Road. Almost all cases, uncle-status drivers. That sight juxtaposes what Christian Bale portrays in the movie; in a repulsive way. Ok this sounds a tad too harsh. Rephrase. If one could afford such a car, then make an effort, dress up a little and match up that image. Respect the beautiful vehicle.
The movie is a tad long but intense. Especially the mind games between Batman and Joker. Heath Ledger’s portrayal as a Joker, very convincing. He completely immerses in the character. His mind is indescribably messed up! Thus some of his insane acts just caught me off guard. Definitely the craziest villain I have ever watched!
